The mirror of the small lake shattered as a brown leaf slowly dropped on its surface. The reflection of the old mansion broke into pieces, predicting the inevitable fate of the ancient building. Cold wind blew amongst the nearly bald trees, like the cruel breath of autumn, tearing apart the last remaining memories of summer. Grey clouds were rolling the sky, bleaching the pale sun, casting shadows on the dying landscape.

A beam of light escaped the bars of fall, quickly it ran, so powerless, so vulnerable, looking for a place to hide, to rest, to stay alive...

It ran straight to the old mansion, then waited a bit, just to make sure that it's safe there. After a little while, it continued its path, step by step advanced near the walls, through an old, broken window, and finally, refracted onto the floor, painting a tiny rainbow into the haze of the worn-out ballroom. A slight breeze unsettled some dust, blowing it through the place. With the soft wind, fragments of light music emerged from the silence. Just as if it was a miracle, suddenly bright light filled the room: enourmous chandeliers came to life, bringing with themselves the power of the sun; the brilliantly illuminated premises glowed in splendour.
Arabesque doors opened silently, and a young couple entered. Gazing at each other's eyes, they didn't see but their pure souls, they didn't hear but the tinkling voice of the intimate silence connecting them, they didn't feel but the caring warmth of their hands folded together.
They quietly approached the dancefloor - it seemed like floating, sheathed by a secret aura binding them. The slight fragments of sounds united, melted into one, ethereal melody, surrounding them with its tender notes. The couple danced, talked with their gentle motion, every subtle movement spoke thousands of words of tenderness and adoration. Foreheads tenuously touching, noses caressing cheeks, lost in an eternal embrace... the music twirled, swirld around, streamed through them... their burning passion fuelled the tune, their madly throbbing hearts brought life to the rythm...

---------------------------

A cold wind shut open the panes of the broken window.
Its harsh sound blew into the air, fading all the bright lights, sweeping away the soft music.
The sun has set, it slowly disappeared behind a rusty, fragmented gravestone in front of the window, and inside the cold, gloomy room an old gentleman heeled in the dark, moving, flowing to the rythm of an undanceable waltz, listening to the long-dead notes of a forgotten tune, hearing nothing but that well-known, everlasting melody of theirs.
...

This didn't turn out as I wanted. Still, I hope someone will like it a bit.

thats pretty creepy. You should work that one and add some more to the end (if you get the energy). Fabulous!
